Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Kitchener was established in 1967 with over 40,000 students enrolled.
One of the top polytechnic education campuses, Conestoga promises to provide a wide variety of programs aimed at meeting the needs of career-driven students.
Located at 299 Doon Valley Drive in Kitchener, Ontario, Doon is Conestoga’s first and largest campus. It is easy travelling to the campus, with access just off Highway 401 at the Homer Watson Boulevard interchange.
The campus has the latest in technology and hands-on learning, with field and clinical experiences, and co-op opportunities. Students learn how to utilize what they learn in class, as well as theory, research, and practice.
The college is constantly adding new programs and keeping up with relevant and timely careers.

The Condors are the college’s team name and they compete at a varsity level. They also encourage students to take part in their intramural and extramural programs.

The Doon neighbourhood dates back to the 1800s, when it was a small bustling community with sawmills, a rope factory, and other businesses. Now it is a suburb of Kitchener and home to Conestoga College.
Lower Doon holds more students in the area. It is a beautiful area with a fair mix of homes, condos, apartments, and townhouses.
Doon South has newer developments of single-family homes, a mix of low and high-rise condos, and townhomes.
Some of the landmarks are historical, including the Waterloo Region Museum. It is a quick five-minute drive from the college and is the largest community museum in Ontario. Included in the collective is the Doon Heritage Village. The historic village is 60- acres and shows visitors and locals what the lifestyle of the Waterloo Region was like in the year 1914.
Residents love being so close to the Columbia Lake Provincial Park. It is a great way to get out and enjoy some recreational activities. Not only is it the largest warm-water lake in east Kootenay, but it also has some great hiking and cycling trails.
Within five minutes of the campus are the Manitou Industrial Park and Trillium Industrial Park.
There are several other popular parks in the area that residents frequent and enjoy. Victoria Park is the oldest park with some of the same features from 1896 when it first opened. There is a historic pavilion that is popular for events and weddings and behind that is a splash park and playground.
One of the newest parks is RBJ Schlegel Park which features a playground, sand play area, artificial and natural turf fields, splash pad and more.
The Grand River Conservation Authority not only manages water and other natural resources on behalf of 39 municipalities, but the Grand River Watershed is the spot for outdoor recreation. There are 2,200 sites for camping, a pond for swimming, trails for hiking and biking, and more.
Less than a ten-minute walk and minutes from the 401 is Doon Valley Golf Course. This is a gorgeous course with much of the green overlooking the Grand River.
Blair and Preston Heights are two neighbourhoods closer to the Cambridge area. Cambridge is just over ten minutes drive from the College and real estate is more affordable compared to Kitchener.
Blair is a quiet community, with few pedestrians and lots of green space, including the Carolinian forest. Preston Heights is a desirable area with the majority of real estate being townhouses. It is also easy to access the highway and Kitchener.
The area has many frequent bus routes and Conestoga College’s Doon Campus is a minor hub for the Grand River Transit bus service. The LRT, known as K-W by locals offers the convenience of 19 simple stations.
Over 800 kilometres is Highway 401, also known by its official name, the Macdonald–Cartier Freeway, which makes travelling a breeze. The part of Highway 401 that passes through Toronto is North America’s busiest highway.
Homer Watson Blvd leads to the college and the Homer Watson/Fountain Street Carpool Lot makes travelling more environmentally friendly.
Pioneer Park is a mature suburban area in the south end of Kitchener that offers single detached homes, townhouses, and apartments. It also has lots of green space with sports fields and batting cages.
